Reaching the World for Christ, One Person at a Time
By making biblical disciples in relational environments
What we hope to do through Jordan River Outfitters is unite our students, to each other and the amazing plan that God has for them, in their homes, in His church and in the community. We hope to bring those students closer to the God they serve by equipping them through Gods word to be successful when the rivers of life are at flood stage. Our desire is to push them to take their faith deeper than the American dream, and to create biblical disciples that Reach the World for Christ One Person at a Time.

What should I wear?
Our approach is casual. We are more concerned about your spiritual journey than what you wear, so dress comfortably, bring your family and friends. Remember though modesty is always appropriate.
What can I expect?
You can expect a variety of musical styles designed specifically to provide an atmosphere of worship. The messages are biblical and practical in order to help you find your potential in Christ. We utilize video, imagery and other creative expressions to communicate Gods message to you. We also are a church of small groups so you will be invited to celebrate with us what is happening in our groups.
What do you have for kids?
Our Childrens Ministry leads little ones to understand who God is so they can become whole-hearted followers of Jesus. Childrens programs for birth through grade 3 are held during all service times on Sunday mornings.
Babies through 4 years interact with loving adults who engage them in Bible- centered activities to communicate Gods word using fun, age-appropriate methods.
K5 - grade 3 begin with worship and singing in a large group environment. We use the Worship KidStyle curriculum.
What else happens on Sunday?
We are a church of small groups because that is where discipleship best occurs. Many of our small groups meet on Sunday but we also have groups meeting on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Best of all entire families are encouraged to attend small group together!
What happens on other days?
On Wednesday nights we have both adult studies (TPC University) and activities for our kids: Preschool activities, Elementary children activities and our youth group for teenagers (6th-12th grade).
What does the church believe?
Please see our beliefs section under the about us tab.
How do I become a member?
Once a month we offer a 101 membership class. This is for all guests who would like to know more about why we do what we do. It also is a great time to ask questions about Trinity Point. We will also feed you and your family lunch!
In the late 1980's and the Piedmont Association assumed primary sponsorship with 18 individual churches within and without the association lending financial and other support in the initial stages. That group, known as Summit Heights Baptist Church, met in a facility with several other churches. After nearly 10 years, they had the opportunity to buy property and build a church building.
In 2006 a group of forty people from Geer Memorial Baptist Church and Brushy Creek Baptist Church began meeting in the upstairs of a home. The called themselves Wellspring Fellowship. After two months, they moved to West End Hall in Easley. Nearly six months later Summit Heights and Wellspring began the process of merging together.
On January 7, 2007 the merge was official and Trinity Point Church came into existence. In the first three years the church has grown from 100 attending on Sunday morning to over 200. They have seen home groups birth from 4 to 10 (not including the ones that meet in offices through the week). 42 people have come to know Christ as Savior here (including 3 since January 2010!) We have also seen 33 people baptized here!
We don't mention these to brag in any way. We rejoice that God is blessing His work and His church. We acknowledge with the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:7, "So neither he who plant nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes all things grow." Thank you God for the increase in Your kingdom!

STUDENT PASTOR
Background: I was born and raised in Greenville, SC. I grew up in southern Greenville county, what I like to refer to as God's country. I enjoyed growing up being involved in all kinds of ministries and growing up in awesome church.
Right Now: I'm currently attending Lander University where I'm finishing up my degree in Business Administration/ Marketing. So if you're reading this pray for me because school is no fun. But thankfully with the Lord's help it will all be over soon.
Family: I've been so lucky that God has blessed me with a great family that I try to spend as much time with as possible. My parents and my sister rock, and I'm waiting on biting the bullet with my awesome girlfriend Emily who I've dated for about four years. But like they say all good things are worth waiting for, right.
TPC student ministry: What I'm hoping for the student ministry at Trinity Point is that God will show each student the lasting impact that He wants to leave on them and His kingdom with each one. As we grow together I pray that each student takes their own unique talents and gifts and channels it toward changing their lives and our community. I see such a passion and desire for life from each of our students and continue to see the fingerprints of God all over each of their lives and hope that each student finds their place in His perfect plan at home, at school, at church, and in this community. Pray that God continues to bless this ministry beyond the amazing things that He has already done.
We have made it our mission as a church and a team to be unified in the essentials. We want to give liberty and grace in the non-essentials and to love Gods way in everything.
We try to be a place of truth and a place of love. We believe we glorify God by doing this.
John 17:20-22 (NIV)
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one. Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
I Corinthians 1:10 (NLT)
Now, dear brothers and sisters, I appeal to you by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ to stop arguing among yourselves. Let there be real harmony so there wont be divisions in the church. I plead with you to be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.
Our Belief Statements
(These are non-negotiable.)
God:
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:1, 26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; I Peter 1:2
Jesus:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heavens glory and will return again someday to claim His own and take them to Heaven.
Scripture References: Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15
Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
Scripture References: John 14:16-17, 16:7-13, 17; Acts 1:8; Romans 5:5; I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18
Bible:
The Bible is Gods Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture or error. The Bible is infallible, inerrant, and absolute truth. Where it speaks we listen and obey.
Scripture References: Psalms 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 1:13, 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21
People:
People are made in the image of God to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:23
Salvation:
Salvation is Gods free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and Gods offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sins penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ as Lord of his life. This is evidenced by repentance, confession, baptism by immersion, and a life committed to His service.
Scripture References: John 1:12, 14:6; Romans 5:1, 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5
Eternity:
People will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is eternal death in Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
Biblical References: John 3:16, 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 6:23, 8:17-18; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9; Revelation 20:15
Spiritual Gifts:
Few areas of theology within the church have caused more division than the subject of spiritual gifts. We do not believe this subject is a salvation issue.
Behavior that Unifies:
At Trinity Point, it is okay to believe differently, but we will act in this way:
•Because this is a non-salvation area of contention between believers, we will not have a place in our church where the gift of tongues is encouraged.
•We will not allow the discussion of a non-salvation issue to destroy the Lords work.
•We do believe God does miracles and answers our prayer. And through the work of the Holy Spirit, empowers us to serve Him and do good works.
The following are Scripture references for churches where the gift of tongues and prophecy are used. These are rules for their use:
•If someone speaks in a tongue, it will be one at a time.
1 Corinthians 14:27,33,40
•There must be an interpreter.
1 Corinthians 14:28
•There must be one who discerns whether it comes from God.
1 John 4:1
•If it is a prayer language, there is a place to pray.
Matthew 6:6
•All the gifts must be used to edify the church, not the individual.
1 Corinthians 14:4-5,26
•No one has all the gifts, but the church is to be a body.
1 Corinthians 12:27-30
Eternal Security:
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.
Scripture References: John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5
Communion:
Communion at Trinity Point is defined as Scripture defines it.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV)
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lords death until he comes.
When we take it, we do so in a worthy manner.
1 Corinthians 11:27-28 (NIV)
Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
We do this by self-examination.
•Do I have any sins to confess? (1 John 1:9)
•Do I have relationships to repair? (Matthew 5:23-24)
•Do I need to recommit my life? (Romans 12:1)
Who should take it?
•Only those who believe.
•With regard to children, we believe a child should not take communion until they can understand the concepts of sin and salvation, and have accepted Christ. However, we do believe communion is a teaching opportunity to explain the concepts of sin and salvation, and our need for Jesus.
The Priesthood of Every Believer:
The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to full-time Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry.
Every believer has direct access to God through Bible reading/study, prayer, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Every Christian is to be a disciple developing relational environments in which they share their faith with those around them by word and by action.
1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
End Times:
We have people with many views on this issue in our church. Some are pre-millennial, others are amillennial, and there are various other differing views. This is not a salvation issue.
We believe there will be a literal return of Christ and a judgment day. How and when this will happen has been a source of great debate. We believe the details are in Gods hands and this is not a salvation issue.
Scripture References: Matthew 12:36; John 5:22, 16:8; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 2 Peter 3:7; Jude 6
Stewardship:
At Trinity Point we practice tithing for the support of Christs Body the church, as Gods Word commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is the biblical standard of giving to the local church. A tithe of everything a person produces belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
Leviticus 27:30 (NLT)
A tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, belongs to the Lord and must be set apart to him as holy.
Malachi 3:7-12 (NIV)
Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD Almighty. But you ask, How are we to return? Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, How do we rob you? In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse the whole nation of you because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the LORD Almighty.
Everything over 10% is an offering of gratitude for the great things God does for us every day. The offering is a privilege to give and is in addition to the tithe.
For those who claim tithing is only an Old Testament concept, Jesus taught about tithing in Matthew 23:23.
Like any area of obedience, tithing is a matter of the heart:
Mark 12:43-44 (NIV)
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything all she had to live on.
2 Samuel 24:24a
But the king replied to Araunah, No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.
